Our Process

Your priorities are our priorities.
We work hard to make sure your package is exactly what you're looking for. Our completely custom design process really allows our customers to create the best possible package for their needs. We believe in open communication throughout our design process. Through this first step, we work with our customers to ensure collaboration on the project.

From concept to completion using only the best TEQnology.

The innovative problem-solvers in our design team work on only the best equipment available and are an important part of what separates TEQ from our competitors. Using the latest 3D solid modeling and surfacing software, they can turn any ideas into a physical prototype, which leads to the creation of the perfect package for your application.

To further meet your specifications, our team has expertise in forming over 25 unique materials, including:

Polypropylene, High Impact Polystyrene, Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol, Polycarbonate, Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate, Polyvinyl Chloride, XT Polymer, High Density Polyethylene, Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate and the latest biodegradable and recycled plastics.

As a crucial step in our rapid development process, we create single-cavity mold prototypes to verify the designs. To save both time and money, valuable information in the prototyping is also used in later tooling phases.

To do any job well you need the right tools, and we’ve got them.

Making our high-speed production tooling using in-house services creates an optimal environment to bring your design to life in the most cost-effective and high-quality way. Using various sampling materials, our TEQnologists can communicate efficiently with you and make adjustments where needed with the quick-change tooling system, to manage cost, lead time and your peace of mind.

Proprietary design solutions:
  • TekZip Patent Pending (Patent Application # US-2010-0176020-A1)
  • ESD Wafer Cassette Trays (Patent# 260237)
  • Squeeze Pak™

When you work with TEQ, you’re always in good form.

TEQ created a 3-in-1 tooling system. In addition to the traditional forming and cutting tools, a stacker tool or pick in place robot arm is utilized to ensure efficient and precise handling of parts. Vision systems can also be added to further ensure that only conforming product is packed and shipped.

Even our standard medical tray tooling can be modified to fit our medical customers’ needs by leveraging custom mold cavities, saving them significant cost and time to market by eliminating the need for full trim tooling.

Manufactured in state of the art controlled environments with high-speed continuous thermoforming equipment, and executed with absolute precision, our standard trays are available in three sizes primarily used for procedural kits.

Our customers like how we operate.

Our meticulously maintained work environment is home to our dedicated and highly-trained TEQnicians, who form over 25 materials on all-electric high speed pressure forming state-of-the-art machines. Each one electronically controlled to maintain temperature, vacuum pressure and timing for a precise, repeatable performance. TEQ utilizes all electric servo Kiefel thermoformers that provide superior processing speeds, quality and process control, and consume much less power than traditional thermoforming equipment making them an important contributor to our green initiative.

It’s the combination of our highly-specialized team, our solutions-driven process and our state-of-the-art technologies, that ensures TEQ has seemingly limitless capabilities to deliver.

TEQ’s operating procedures guarantee each work cell has at least one “lean certified” member to support our lean manufacturing program plus experience with other processes such as assembly, welding and sealing.

We use highly-efficient, high-speed pressure forming Kiefel machines that generate less waste. In fact, we have the largest installation of Kiefel machines in the US. We have chosen Kiefel as a partner because of:
  • Process control and repeatability
  • Forming cycle times
  • Tool exchange speed and precision
  • Die cutting tolerances and die life
  • Automated parts handling
  • Modular design
  • US-based service, support and training
  • Higher efficiency and greater output than traditional equipment (Green)
All plant operations are registered to ISO 9001 and a secondary plant (for medical device manufacture) is one of the only custom thermoforming facilities registered ISO 13485 in the US.

Or as we like to call it – TEQuality.

We are all passionate about what we do at TEQ and we go to great lengths to maintain world class standards, including complete traceability to raw materials, full documentation, SPC monitoring and complete adherence to your specifications, through the use of state-of-the-art computerized measurement tools.

  • We have won several quality awards for our work. It’s something we’re proud of and the reason we can guarantee fit, form and function of every part and package we produce. Here’s how:
  • Our medical device plant is one of the only ISO 13485 Registered custom thermoforming facilities in the US (secondary facility used for specific processes)
  • ISO 9001 Registered
  • Average of six audits annually by Medical and Pharmaceutical OEMs
  • Class 100,000 controlled environment
  • Regular validation including IQ/OQ/PQ
  • PFMEA risk analysis
  • Quality records are maintained a minimum of three years
