FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 30, 2021
HUNTLEY, Ill. – Effective August 31, 2021 TEQ, A Sonoco Company, a leader in medical thermoform manufacturing, will cease the manufacture and sale of molded pulp fiber packaging and products. TEQ has been manufacturing this line of packaging under the brand name Fibrepak, with the manufacturing operation located in Poznan, Poland.
“On behalf of Sonoco -TEQ, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their continued loyalty in choosing us as their preferred supplier for molded pulp packing and products over the past years. Without their support, our success would not have been possible but under the current global business climate, we have been left with no option but to cease operations.” said President, Randall Loga.
Fibrepak was attained in the acquisition of Plastique in 2016 when TEQ purchased the European thermoformer.
“TEQ, A Sonoco Company is exiting molded pulp fiber but be assured that our plastic business remains strong, and all our locations will continue in the design and manufacture of thermoformed plastic packaging and products far into the future,” said Loga.
For over 25 years, TEQ has been dedicated to being the leader of global quality thermoform manufacturing. With recent expansion, TEQ’s continuous innovation, design capability, and process control gives the company the ability to serve customers better than anyone else. TEQ is uniquely positioned to help medical device manufacturers meet demanding testing and validation requirements and reduce their time to market by avoiding costly redesign efforts and delays. In addition, TEQ provides value added products like heat seal machines, engineering services, and flexible packaging.
